About our Program

The purpose of the Adult Transition Program is to educate young adults with disabilities so that they may transition to adult life and become productive members of society. With this in mind, the curriculum is geared toward providing the students with the skills that enable them to function more independently based on their ability levels.
The Adult Transition Program (ATP) is a Special Education program for adults with disabilities aged 18 to 22 years who have completed high school on a non-diploma track, or an alternative to a Diploma.
ATP has five teachers who provide different levels of instruction based on the needs of students and their levels of independence.

ATP provides support and instruction in
  • Independent Living Skills (ILS)
  • Vocational training
  • Community-Based Instruction (CBI)
  • Mobility training
  • Social skills
  • Functional academics

ALL STUDENT ENROLLMENT INTO ADULT TRANSITION IS DONE THROUGH AN IEP MEETING WITH THE STUDENT'S HIGH SCHOOL TEAM.
